Celebrating 2025 Regional Arts & Artists
You’re invited! Meet & greet Root River Current featured artists and organizers on November 15

SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA—2025 has been another incredible year for Root River Current‘s coverage of the arts and artists in the greater Root River Valley area – over two dozen artists or organizations have been featured already this year.

Arts patrons enjoyed hearing the “stories behind the stories” from several guest artists at our 2024 reception. Above, fiber artist Lydia Hansen describes her mushroom installation along the Lost Creek Hiking Trail near Chatfield.

Plan now to join Root River Current’s board and staff as we recognize many of these community members during our 2025 Celebrating Arts & Artists reception on November 15.
Individual artists and arts organizations featured in stories published this year, plus poets, essayists and photographers who have contributed their original works, will be in attendance. Some will share examples of their works, others their background and contact information – but all will be gathered to celebrate the creative community that exists in this corner of southeast Minnesota.
Of special note, there will be a short program including live music, original poetry and an entertaining presentation on youth and how they put their creative energies to work!
Root River Current’s Celebrating Arts & Artists reception will be held in the Scale Room at Sylvan Brewing in Lanesboro, Saturday November 15, 4-6 p.m. – entertainment and our featured program will begin around 5.
This reception is open to the public free of charge – for planning purposes, it’s helpful if you’d please RSVP with your intention to attend.
Please join us on this special occasion to meet and greet some of the folks whose artistic talent enriches us all.

Root River Current’s coverage of the arts is made possible, in part, by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts & cultural heritage fund.
