Allyship 101 | Working with Marginalized Groups

January 19     1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Overview

Are you worried about how frightened & divided our communities have become? It’s easy to believe that there is nothing to be done. You are invited to a free workshop hosted by Fillmore Action on Coming Together (FACT).

In this session we will examine elements which have divided our communities as well as our own internalized cultural norms and open up our imaginations to explore how to build truly equitable collaborations.

We know that inequitable systems and implicit bias work to marginalize certain parts of our community and that antiquated models of helping do not address systemic power inequities. We will explore how to move beyond these limitations and work on building the skills needed to create truly power equitable collaborations, whether it is with our immigrant neighbors, our LGBTQIA family members or people of color fighting for equity.

Pre-registration is encouraged. Email fillmoreact@gmail.com or leave a message for Jo at 507-875-2839.
