Overview

Need a bright spot in your day? Take time to see local students on the river in 10-person canoes—Canoemobiles!!!

This is pre-planned canoeing for 4th-, 5th- or 6th-graders from almost every public and private school in Mower County, along with communities of Hollandale, Blooming Prairie and Hayfield. This is NOT open canoeing for the public. You’re invited to take a break and SEE the fun of kids enjoying an exhilarating new experience. Launch and return times are 8:30-9a, 11a-12p and 2p.

Cedar River Watershed District – Mower Soil & Water Conservation District is partnering with the nonprofit Wilderness Inquiry to host Canoemobile programming all week (Mon-Fri, May 11-15) on the Cedar River State Water Trail at Ramsey Dam in Austin. Each canoe is guided by a highly trained boat captain. Canoemobile is staged on land owned by Mower County and the MN Dept. of Natural Resources on public land across from The Old Mill Restaurant in Austin, MN.
