Jim Johnson grew up in Northern Minnesota where he developed an awareness and concern for culture and local history as well as the natural world. He is a former Duluth Poet Laureate and has published twelve books of poetry. In addition to “A Good Sauna Always Burns Down,” Jim's “One Morning In June: Selected Poems” acknowledges the interconnectedness of our species and plants and animals. He splits his time between Decorah, Iowa, and Isabella, Minn.
