Join A Visionary, Creative and Committed Board of Directors

SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA—Now heading into its fourth year, Root River Current is recognized as an eMagazine that is consistently providing stories that help build community in Southeast Minnesota!

The existing ten-member Board of Directors is actively seeking potential directors to add more ideas, enthusiasm and encouragement to grow this ‘dream’ into something even bigger. 

As a governing board, directors provide strategic direction, legal and fiduciary oversight, and staff management. Its organizational work includes supporting marketing, fundraising and resource development.

As a working board, directors contribute their time and expertise to content development, raising money, promotional campaigns, enhancing and advancing Root River Current’s presence in the community, and collaborating with its staff to meet publication goals and deadlines.

The Board meets every two to three months, as necessary, including an Annual Meeting each spring; responsibilities may also include attending task team meetings, donor events or community outreach activities.

“In its short time, Root River Current has become a trusted, quality source of news and information for our local region,” said Board Chair Steve Harris. “We’re excited about its potential for growth in the years ahead!”
