Submit An Event
Post free or fee-based events that are open to the public and hosted by organizations in Houston, Fillmore, Mower, Winona and Olmsted counties. These may be tours, music, theater, art, outdoors, hobby, heritage, sport, learning, food, cooking, community fundraising or seasonal activities, job fairs, church dinners and festivals.
You may also post open houses, retail events, chef’s dinners, holiday meals, business networking or training events, community-wide sales events and multi-vendor markets if they are open to the public and include entertainment, music, tastings, guest appearances, signings or demonstrations.
League sport games, political events and rallies, religious services, retail discounts or happy hours may not be posted. Routine school and local government events are too numerous to include in this calendar but links to their calendars are found on this Root River Current page.
Submissions are reviewed and approved at the discretion of Root River Current. We reserve the right to edit submitted entries and to accept or reject a submitted item for any reason.

Before submitting an event:
- Make sure it is not already on the calendar.
- Write a clear description in sentences. Do not use all-caps.
- If the event is part of a series or runs multiple days at different times, link to those details in your description.
- Check for accuracy before submitting.
- Provide a horizontal photo minimum 857 x 550 pixels, NOT a poster.
