Root River Diary: Four Dogs And A Surprise

Editor’s Note: Our Root River Diary series features readers’ stories about the people who make the Root River valley such an interesting place to live. Guidelines and submission details can be found at the end of the article.

“Why yes, that IS a baby goat in the back of our car!”

I was at the local dog park recently when four of the larger dogs disappeared into the woods.

Seconds later, FIVE creatures emerged from the woods, including a goat with the dogs in hot pursuit.

Us dog moms managed to wrangle the goat (and subdue the dogs) and got him into our car.

Turns out he had escaped from the local Sales Barn where he was returned safe and sound but still mightily freaked out.

Just another day in the ‘Boro!’
