Root River Current’s Local Events Calendar—Find A New Adventure!

 

SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA – Are you looking for something different to do? Searching for an adventure to share with guests? Hosting an event and looking to pack the room? Root River Current’s new Local Events Calendar will help you make it happen.

This summer Root River Current introduces a regional events calendar that’s easy for sponsors, promoters, and participants to use. It makes posting public events quick for hosts, and finding adventures a cinch for the rest of us.

If you want something new to do, you’ll discover the calendar is organized and easy on the eyes. For event sponsors, a simple online form makes posting an event quick and uncomplicated. Hit “Submit”, and once a Root River Current editor approves your submission, it’s posted automatically. Yes, the calendar is a work-in-progress, so if you experience problems or have questions, we’re here to help (contact details below). 

We welcome free and fee-based events that are open to the public and hosted by Houston, Fillmore, Mower, Winona or Olmsted county organizations. A wide variety of activities is encouraged, including: concerts, theater, art, learning events and tours, hobby and heritage activities, church dinners, cooking and food, community fundraising, sport and outdoor activities, seasonal happenings and festivals. 

Open houses, retail events, chef’s dinners, holiday meals, community-wide sales events and multi-vendor markets may also be posted if they are open to the public and include entertainment, music, tastings, guest appearances, signings or demonstrations.

We cannot accept promotions for political events and rallies, league sport games, job fairs, public hearings, religious services, retail discounts or happy hours. 

Schools and local governments are vital to community life and provide a continuous roster of events relevant to people of all ages—more events than we can possibly accommodate in this calendar. Find links to the individual calendars of those institutions on this single page. Then step in to meet your neighbors.

Root River Current’s calendar promotes your event at no cost to you. It’s free. Use it to increase your reach, make activities more appealing, engage new audiences and build attendance.
